Artwork and Drawing Specifications

To ensure that your project is processed as quickly and accurately as possible, we have set up the following guidelines for artwork submission. The programmer assigned to your project will contact you if additional information about your project is required. Creative Metal Works, Inc. requires signed approvals of our shop drawings before any job is released for production.

ACCEPTABLE DIGITAL FORMATS:
• . DWG - AutoCAD 2015 or earlier*
• . AI - Adobe Illustrator
• . PDF – Portable Document Format

Note that bitmaps (raster images) imbedded in any of the above formats do not meet the guidelines for acceptable digital art. Vector art is needed.

*(Use Polylines, rather than splines for all arcs; splines will not convert properly to NC Code for the waterjet machine. If ellipses are used, they must be drawn with the AutoCAD PELLIPSE variable set to 1.)
Files containing text should have all text converted to curves, since the font used may not be resident on our system and another could be substituted inadvertently. Fonts produced in AutoCAD will not convert to outline form, and are therefore not useable. Artwork may be sent to Creative Metal Works, Inc. email: cmwsales@iowatelecom.net

Artwork submitted in any form other than the above will require cleanup and or conversion at the rate of $100.00 per hour.
